Site Survey

Know the impact of radio waves on your wi-fi network

Radio waves do not travel the same distance in all directions. Walls, doors, elevator shafts, people and other obstacles offer varying degrees of attenuation, causing radio frequency (RF) radiation patterns to be irregular and unpredictable. As a result, Accuvant recommends all companies consider the use of a site survey to understand radio wave behavior prior to installing new wireless devices.

Accuvant's site survey examines a company's existing RF environment, evaluates a current or planned wireless architecture for coverage, and compares actual coverage against unauthorized users. Accuvant's certified engineers prepare a detailed report of your facility, complete with pictures of current access point positions and an analysis of any existing wireless configurations. Included is a coverage map that presents a color coded topology analysis illustrating redundancies, overlap, no-coverage zones and signal strengths. Ultimately, a site survey provides a detailed roadmap for deploying wireless infrastructure with confidence.
