Accuvant was founded by a group of security veterans who saw the need for comprehensive solutions in an industry that had become too specialized and fragmented.

Accuvant was founded in 2002 by a group of security veterans who saw the need for comprehensive solutions in an industry that had become too specialized and fragmented. The founders' vision was to create a company that would bridge the gap between vendors and end users by combining best-in-class technology with expert consulting services. They started by working closely with security product manufacturers to thoroughly understand the solutions' capabilities and differentiators, then combined that knowledge with experience and insight to help their clients design and deploy the appropriate security products in order to optimize their network security environment.

As Accuvant grew, so did the information security marketplace. An increasing number of malicious attacks were being launched and companies were bombarded by a growing number of security offerings in the marketplace. Accuvant established an assessment practice dedicated to helping companies identify, understand and remediate vulnerabilities, enabling them to make better decisions about how to allocate budgets. Shortly thereafter, as federal regulations and security standards became more prevalent, Accuvant developed a Risk and Compliance practice to help companies navigate through complex security requirements, understand their current postures, identify gaps, and develop and set policies and procedures to ensure compliance.

Today, Accuvant offers a full breadth of offerings that assess companies' current environments, implement controls and monitor those controls. As the security landscape and corporate priorities continue to evolve, Accuvant will continue to refine its strategy, client offerings and position in the marketplace to provide the industry-leading information security services companies need, delivered how they want them.
