Battery Firmware Hacking

Dr. Miller explored the security implications of embedded controllers in laptop batteries and demonstrated how smart battery systems work. He discovered a vulnerability that enables configuration changes as well as firmware changes on the chip responsible for charging the battery. And, he delivered a software tool to patch the vulnerability.
